Abstract

Parents are responsible for the development and education of their children. Parental involvement determines the success of the implementation of inclusive education in an education unit. With the involvement of parents in the implementation of inclusive education, synergy in the implementation of inclusion education is going well. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of parents in the implementation of inclusive education in SD 4 Koba, Bangka Tengah Regency.  This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive method. This research was conducted at State Elementary School 4 Koba, Bangka Tengah Regency. The subjects in this study were parents of students, teachers and education staff at SD Negeri 4 Koba. Data collection uses interview, observation and documentation techniques. The validity of the data is carried out with confirmation of the results of observations, and interview documents. Data credibility tests are carried out by extending observations, increasing persistence, and references. The results showed that the role of parents in the implementation of inclusive education at SD Negeri 4 Koba was carried out in a participatory and collaborative manner. The positive role of parents could affect the implementation of inclusive education. The results of this study also show that good cooperation between parents and the school in this case teachers and education staff is very influential in the process of providing inclusive education and supports the creation of better and meaningful inclusive learning.
